Workforce in Romania: structure problems

Romania ranks the last among the EU member states in terms of share of state employees in total workforce. This situation exists even though we are the state that registered the highest increase in the percentage of public sector workers over the last twenty years, from 6.1% in 1995 to 11.6% last year.

Workforce crisis: Romania doubles “imports” of Asian workers

2017 was the first year when the share of foreign (third states) workers initially established – instead of 3,000 permanent workers, as estimated initially based on the employers’ demand, there have been 3,211 people employed. It was a sign that the staff shortage has deepened so much that companies are forced to import workforce, so they can continue their development.
